    There are three kinds of compensation in CNC machining: These three kinds of compensation can basically solve the trajectory problem caused by tool shape in machining. The following one is the application of tool radius compensation in general CNC machining programming.

    1. The concept of tool radius compensation is just like the use of tool length compensation in the programming basically do not consider the length of the tool, because of the tool radius compensation, we can not consider too much tool diameter size in the programming. Tool length compensation is applicable to all tools, while tool radius compensation is generally only used for milling tools. When the milling cutter CNC machining the contour of the workpiece outside or inside, the tool radius compensation is used, when the end face of the workpiece is processed by the end face CNC milling cutter, only the tool length compensation is needed. Because tool radius compensation is a relatively difficult to understand and use an instruction, so in CNC programming many people do not want to use it. But once we understand and master it, the use of our programming and CNC machining will bring great convenience.

    When the programmer is ready to make a CNC milling cutter CNC machining a workpiece appearance of the program, first of all, according to the workpiece size and the radius of the tool carefully calculated coordinate value to make clear the path of the center of the tool. The radius of the cutter is only the radius of the milling cutter, and when it is found that the milling cutter is not suitable for a tool of other diameters after painstaking programming, the programmer has to painstakingly recalculate the coordinate value of the route taken by the center of the tool. This is not much of a problem for a simple workpiece, but it is simply too difficult to recalculate for a die with a complex shape.

Because after rough machining, the size of the workpiece has changed, and then to calculate the precision machining tool center coordinate value, the workload is greater. At this point, if the tool radius compensation, these problems are readily solved. We can ignore the tool radius, and program according to the workpiece size, and then put the tool radius as the radius compensation in the radius compensation register. Temporary replacement of CNC milling cutter or rough finishing or, we only need to change the tool radius compensation value, can control the size of the workpiece size, the program is not used as a little modification.

Compensation has two directions, that is, along the cutting direction of the vertical direction of the left and right to compensate, in line with the right-handed rule; G41 is the left compensation, following the left hand rule; G42 is right compensation, in line with the right hand rule, the tool radius compensation used in the right hand rule when using G41, G42 for radius compensation, special attention should be paid to make the compensation effective tool moving direction and coordinates.
