    Update:2022-11-22

Beginner metal machining is a zero-to-one learning. It is necessary to understand the use of metal machining, the materials processed, and the manufacturing process of machining, etc. Today, Assetprecision guides a beginner to understand metal machining and basic knowledge.

What Assetprecision can do for your metalworking parts
Assetprecision's CNC metal fabrication services provide prototyping of metal parts before going into full production to help you test your product designs for form, fit and function. Equipped with multiple Haas and JingDiao machines for high-speed cutting, experienced machinists and well-equipped multi-purpose machines, Assetprecision can meet the needs of most manufacturing projects, providing fast turnaround times.

The capability of three- to five-axis CNC machining enables Assetprecision to handle precision machined metal parts with more complex shapes and tighter tolerance requirements. Flexible production methods, along with a machine shop that remains open 24/7, make Assetprecision's machining services ideal for low-volume production of custom metal parts. Comprehensive finishing services are also available to suit your needs, after machining Assetprecision can provide special surface treatments for your metal parts.

The process involved in the machining of metal parts
Turning – This is a form of CNC metalworking that involves the use of lathes and cutting tools to remove unwanted metal material from rotating parts. CNC turning is ideal for manufacturing cylindrical parts.

Milling – A milling operation involves the removal of material from a workpiece using a multi-point rotating tool. Features of the milling process include pockets, slots, faces, complex contours and chamfers.

Drilling – Drilling creates a circular hole in a workpiece. A drilling or tapping machine is designed for drilling holes, but a milling machine can also be used to perform the process. The boring process involves enlarging an existing cast or drilled hole; reaming is used to enlarge a previously drilled hole to a very precise diameter.

Electrical Discharge – Sparking (EDM Electrical Discharge Machining) is the removal of material from the surface of a workpiece by the erosive process of electric discharge. As an auxiliary machining technology, it is widely used in aluminum parts machining, because some complex parts can only be realized with the help of EDM.

Wire cutting - it uses a moving wire as a tool electrode, and passes a pulse current between the wire and the workpiece, and uses the corrosion of the pulse discharge to cut the workpiece.
