The process involved in the machining of metal parts
Turning – This is a form of CNC metalworking that involves the use of lathes and cutting tools to remove unwanted metal material from rotating parts. CNC turning is ideal for manufacturing cylindrical parts.
Milling – A milling operation involves the removal of material from a workpiece using a multi-point rotating tool. Features of the milling process include pockets, slots, faces, complex contours and chamfers.
Drilling – Drilling creates a circular hole in a workpiece. A drilling or tapping machine is designed for drilling holes, but a milling machine can also be used to perform the process. The boring process involves enlarging an existing cast or drilled hole; reaming is used to enlarge a previously drilled hole to a very precise diameter.
Electrical Discharge – Sparking (EDM Electrical Discharge Machining) is the removal of material from the surface of a workpiece by the erosive process of electric discharge. As an auxiliary machining technology, it is widely used in aluminum parts machining, because some complex parts can only be realized with the help of EDM.
Wire cutting - it uses a moving wire as a tool electrode, and passes a pulse current between the wire and the workpiece, and uses the corrosion of the pulse discharge to cut the workpiece.
